Glass Jar
- 1 cup Fresh Mango
- 4 Habanero Peppers
- 0.5 cup Light Corn Syrup
- 0.25 cup Apple Cider Vinegar
- 1 tsp Onion Powder
- 1 tsp Garlic Powder
- 0.5 tsp Salt
Step 1
Peel the skin off the fresh mango fruit. Cut the mango into very small cubes. Put on gloves before touching the hot peppers. Slice the habaneros and remove the green stems. Keep the seeds if you want extra heat.
Step 2
Place the mango cubes into your blender. Add the sliced habanero peppers to the blender. Pour the apple cider vinegar over the fruit. Turn the blender on a high speed setting. Blend until the mixture is very smooth.
Step 3
Pour the blended mixture into a small saucepan. Turn the stove to a medium heat setting. Add the light corn syrup to the pan. Sprinkle in the onion powder and garlic powder. Add a small pinch of salt now.
Step 4
Stir the sauce gently with your metal whisk. Bring the liquid to a very slow simmer. Do not let the sauce boil too hard. The heat should stay low and steady. This allows the peppers to release their oils.
Step 5
Cook the sauce for about ten minutes. Watch as the liquid begins to get thick. It should look very shiny and dark orange. The smell will be very strong and spicy. Turn off the heat once it looks right.
Step 6
Let the sauce sit for five minutes. It will thicken more as it cools down. Pour the sauce into your clean glass jar. You can use it on wings right away. Enjoy the heat of your homemade sauce!
