Equipment

  • Medium Mixing Bowl
  • Wire Whisk
  • Rubber Spatula
  • Glass Mason Jar
  • Measuring Cups
  • Measuring Spoons

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup Mayonnaise
  • 1/4 cup Sour Cream
  • 2 tbsp Buttermilk
  • 1/2 cup Blue Cheese Crumbles
  • 1 tsp Lemon Juice
  • 1/2 tsp Garlic Powder
  • 1/4 tsp Onion Powder
  • 1/4 tsp Salt
  • 1/4 tsp Black Pepper
  • 1/2 tsp Worcestershire Sauce

Instructions

Step 1:

  1. Get your medium mixing bowl ready. Add the mayonnaise and sour cream first. Stir them together until very smooth. This creates a thick, creamy base.

Step 2:

  1. Pour the buttermilk into the bowl slowly. Add the fresh lemon juice now. Whisk these into the cream mixture. The texture should look very consistent.

Step 3:

  1. Measure out your dry spices carefully. Add the garlic powder and onion powder. Sprinkle in the salt and black pepper. Stir well so the spices spread out.

Step 4:

  1. Add a few drops of Worcestershire sauce. This adds a very nice color. Whisk the mixture one more time. Make sure there are no large lumps.

Step 5:

  1. Get your blue cheese crumbles ready now. Fold them in with a rubber spatula. Do not over-mix the cheese crumbles. You want to keep those tasty chunks.

Step 6:

  1. Taste the dressing with a small spoon. Add more salt if you like. Put the dressing in a glass jar. Place it in the fridge immediately.

Step 7:

  1. Let the dressing chill for one hour. This allows the flavors to blend. It will taste much better when cold. Give it a quick stir before serving.

Notes

  • Use fresh lemon juice for the best zip.
  • Let it sit for better flavor depth.
  • Buy high-quality cheese for a better taste.
  • Adjust the buttermilk for your favorite thickness.
  • Keep the cheese chunks large for better texture.
  • Whisk the base very well before adding cheese.
